Alert: Mercury turns retrograde

Astrology 1 Comment »

Mercury Turns Retrograde

On Monday, May 26, Mercury, the planet of communication turns retrograde in changeable Gemini, sending communications and travel plans into confusion. Adding to this cosmic chaos, Neptune, the planet of truth and lies, also turns retrograde on the very same day! Your logical and rational mind will turn into a mush of confusion, forgetfulness and will most likely be totally spaced out. Travel might be disrupted and be subject to monumental delays. Flights might get cancelled, luggage lost, connections missed. You have the inside scoop, so be prepared!Neptune rules dreams and ideals. This is a great time to use meditation to reach your spiritual centre. Neptune is also the planet of exposure and uncovers lies, fraud and deception. During this retrograde, which lasts until November 1, all kinds of secrets might be uncovered and put into the spotlight. The truth will be out!

In general, Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating of information and all means of communication and transportation. Mercury turns retrograde three times a year, but the effects of each period differ, according to the sign in which it happens. The focus for this retrograde period, which will end June on 19, is on communications since Gemini is directly ruled by Mercury.

If I have your attention, let’s get ready to manifest new and exciting things, as with today’s Full Moon, manifestation is going to be extremely POWERFUL!

Making the most of this Full Moon, this is what you will need to do…

Quietly as we come together to join the journey inwards, become aware of your thoughts. Know that you create your future with your mind, and you deserve this.

1. Give yourself sometime to sit quietly, somewhere that you won’t be disturbed. Let go of any unwanted thoughts that you don’t want. Drop your shoulders and relax and let go.

2. Grab your journal or take an A4 piece of paper.

3. Write the heading “Wish list of things I am grateful of receiving…”

4. Focus your mind of the things you truly want, then start writing your wish list.

5. Re-read what you have wrote, then place your notes where you can see them so you keep on reminding yourself what you are wishing for.

6. Read your notes just before you sleep tonight, and when you awake first thing in the morning and smile :o)…

7. Say to yourself or out loud, I am a beautiful being that deserves all that is already in the process of manifesting.

Jupiter Turns Retrograde: Time for Inner Growth

Saturn just sent ripples in your life by going direct, but another major wave of change is coming on May 9 when Jupiter turns retrograde.

Jupiter is the planet of luck, grace, favor and fortune. Jupiter brings wealth, abundance, and optimism. Our successes, accomplishments and prosperity are all within the realm of the grace this large planet bestows upon us.

However, when Jupiter turns retrograde, our forward momentum is reversed. This period is not a good time to start new ventures, make financial investments or even change jobs for that matter. Rather, it is a time to finish projects, an excellent time to pay attention to relationships, as well a time to gain a better perspective on life and our inner self. The major emphasis of a Jupiter retrograde period is on inner awareness and inner growth.

Sagittarius Zodiac Sign - ruled by Jupiter.

Sagittarius characteristics are witness to the importance of deriving meaning from experience. From experience, that is, not from books, though reading the thoughts and searches for meaning of others can help in the quest. Consider the symbol or glyph for Sagittarius - a centaur. The rear half is that of a horse and the front half that of a human. The horse symbolises animal instinct - it isn’t the rear half for nothing! The human symbolises the search for that which lies beyond animal instinct. The two are always together - meaning, philosophy, religion, are divorced from instinct at their peril. Then you get the philosophers and preachers who exhibit great powers of mind but cannot touch the heart.

The Myth:
Sagittarians, so they say, are bright, breezy, bouncy types who never let anything get them down. They are all “jolly-hockey-sticks”; totally tactless and insensitive but full of energy and enthusiasm. Supposedly, they love competitions, always look on the bright side, see everyone as a friend and are suspiciously fond of horses.

The Truth:
This is all a bit unfair. Sagittarians are perfectly capable of being grouchy and grumpy. They can summon plenty of lethargy and cynicism when they choose to. They can also be very delicate, diplomatic and deep. It’s just that, because Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter - the planet of hope - they can never quite silence an inner voice of optimism. Events may reduce it to a whisper for a while but it always returns to a roar, the moment they spot a possible solution to a problem. Sagittarians are idealists who want everything to be wonderful. They are also extremists who hate half measures. For them, it’s either gung ho or no go. And as for the horses? Only some of them, sometimes!

The Key To Success:
To be a Sagittarian is to be surrounded by serendipity. Rarely do you have to go in search of anything. It naturally comes to you. Or, at least, it does as long as you know the difference between trusting your luck and pushing your luck. When you strive, you stumble. When you make the most of what’s on offer, you get magical results

NEW MOON in GEMINI

Let’s celebrate today’s New Moon in Gemini

New Moon = New Beginnings

Gemini Zodiac Sign - Basics:

Element: Air, Quality: Mutable, Ruler: Mercury.

Gemini moon signs and sun signs

Character

Gemini takes an interest in anything initially but gets easily bored. A seeker after information, passing it on to others whether or not it’s worth the trouble. A winner if clear thinking is what is needed in a crisis.

Pitfalls

Feelings are fascinating but hard to handle. Can’t always see that the emotions need to be engaged in order for the mind to function at its best, for ideas to be fertile not sterile. An interesting new idea may lead to the abandonment of work on a vital existing one.

A word of advice

You can’t explain away complex feelings. Try to enter into them. The Gemini mind can then take the vantage point of an compassionate observer, finding ways to bring them creatively into daily life. Emotions can be interesting as well as ideas!

Remember to let go of old habits to allow the new energy to flow through you!

Manifest well!

With love and light

Saturn Turns Direct: Incredible Possibilities for All

Saturn as imaged by the approaching Cassini Spacecraft

SATURN TURNS DIRECT: POSSIBLITIES FOR ALL

Saturn, the slow moving planet of karma and taskmaster of the zodiac, goes direct on May 2, 2008 at 8:07pm, PDT, ushering in an incredible period of possibilities and gifts.

Saturn commands us to get to work, and to work hard. Discipline and responsibility are important to this planet. So if you have been honest, responsible and hard working, gifts and rewards are coming your way! It could be a lucky break, a well-deserved raise at work or dreams you had given up, suddenly handed to you. However, if we have been shirking our responsibility or have been deceitful, then we will be found out and dealt with accordingly.

Saturn reinforces responsibility, carrying your share of the load and being held accountable for what you say or do — or say you are going to do. Saturn rules wisdom, however, it is wisdom gained from hard work and experience — earned one hard step at a time. During a direct period, Saturn inspires confidence. As its role as a teacher, during a direct transit, Saturn also bestows inner strength — a strength of spirit, a deepening sense of compassion and understanding of self, others or a particular situation.

Appreciating today’s FULL MOON

A warm welcome of love to everyone,

I would firstly like to welcome all those who are new to my group. I do appreciate that you have added to The World of Love and Light, and thank you from the heart.

Can you believe another month has passed, time is for sure speeding up!

 Full Moon in Scorpio

I would like to talk about today’s Full Moon. I am not sure how everyone is feeling right now, but I have noticed and felt a lot of shifting of all sorts of emotions this week. The Full Moon is working its magic on the Universe as planned, and pushing and clearing the old all ready for the new exciting things for you to create. I love looking at the moon in general; especially the Full Moon as there is something very magical about it. Being the spiritual deep thinking that I am, I really connect to the vibrations it sends out and I make the most of its beauty!

The moon has such power over us and controls our monthly cycle, and yet I feel so many people take it for granted. I find most people are not in tune of our cycle of when the Full Moon is pushing on our planet with its full beauty of gravity in abundance. I see and feel this process every month, and I notice that people are more sensitive around the week before and the week after the Full Moon. I hear of people arguing more, breaking from relationships and places feel a lot heavier than normal with extreme tiredness. People in general do pick up and sense that there is something different, but most don’t not question why?

So here are some things to be aware of this week and next, as the cycle is a build up a week before the Full Moon and a week after the Full Moon:

Everyone’s psychic is a lot stronger and clearer around this time. You might dream more than normal this week and the week after. I have had some wonderful dreams this week, and the synchronicity of certain things I have experienced have been amazing. Synchronicity is always stronger around this time, so pay attention there will be some wonderful things it will be showing you!

Make the most of this Full Moon, as your good thoughts and wishes will manifest faster, so make sure you are directing your thoughts on things you truly want, and be very CLEAR in what you are asking for!! The Full Moon pushes out the old into the new cycle process, so anything that needs to come out over the next few days will show itself to you. My advice would be to let go and surrender to the outcome. Be aware of others who are not so awake to what is happening, and try not get too caught up in the process of others confusion, especially places where energies are high and fast moving.

If you are sensitive to energy shifts on the planet, then you will feel the intensity of gravity and the squeezing the Full Moon pushes onto every one of us. Try to be gentle on you, and if you are feeling pressure and extreme tiredness, surrender and rest. I find increasing meditation helps me to let go more around the time of the Full Moon, so this could also help you.

If you know anyone who is a Cancer birth sign or you are the sign of the Crab, then my advice to you would be to be very gentle with them or yourself. These souls ruler planet is the moon, so they will be more sensitive and moody especially around this time. Give them space to express their feelings on their own. Be the observer of this process and see what it brings.

Happy Full Moon to all and remember, we are all in this process of life together with Oneness that we already are! Sending love, light with deepest gratitude,
Georgina

Libra Full Moon Reflection

Astrology No Comments »

We’re at the mid-point of the Sun’s journey across the horizon and the time when days and nights are of equal length. There’s also a Full Moon, indicative of secrets being revealed, fears being faced and changes being instigated. Often, at powerful times like this, it becomes hard to tell what’s good… and what’s bad. Take for example, the situation in Tibet. TOn March 19/20, at the vernal equinox, the sun crossed the celestial Equator, bringing its warmth back to the Northern Hemisphere. Not only the sun but Earth and all her creatures seem reborn.

Day, now equal in length to night, will wax in influence until the summer solstice. Festivals of renewal and deliverance will mark the season in myriad places and ways. The Full Moon this week falls on Good Friday, as Christians mark the crucifixion of Christ, the “Lamb of God,” whose sacrifice redeems the world and washes away the sins of the people. This mystery is understood in the light of the symbolism of the Jewish ritual sacrifice of the Passover lamb, commemorating the deliverance of the Hebrew people from bondage in Egypt. Also on the day of this Full Moon the Jewish festival of Purim will be observed, recalling Queen Esther’s deliverance of her people. At the Libra Full Moon, however, Aries looks into the mirror of its opposite sign and sees the possibility of finding balance, measure, reflection, partnership, and a place in the greater whole. Whereas Aries’ image is that of a rambunctious red-blooded animal, Libra is represented by an inanimate object: the Scales, a balance with two equal arms from which are suspended the two weighing trays or bowls. Aries’ blazing sense of “I” now confronts the reality of the other and the possibility of a “We”. Aries wants satisfaction of its own desires, salvation from its own perils and demons, deliverance from the burdens and boundaries that limit its creative reach. On Libra’s scales, these individual desires and demands are weighed against the claims and needs of the community.

Aries is asked to consecrate the best that he has – his passion, energy, creative spirit, even his ability to fight and kill — to create a better life for all. At the most obvious and literal level, if he wants to procreate, society expects him to marry (Libra being the sign of matrimony). If he seeks a life of adventure and risk, he must find a career or community role that makes use of his courage, daring and strength – perhaps as a police officer, soldier or rescue worker – and dedicate himself to the laws and disciplines of that field of work.We might look at Libra’s Scales as another form of the Cross, which is not only the central Christian symbol, emergent on Good Friday, but a timeless and universal image of the totality of the cosmos and our place in it. The horizontal arms represent our participation in the world, the working out of the balance between the individual and society. The vertical standard on which the arms are mounted represents the connection between Heaven and Earth, the sacred dimension of existence. Without this standard, there would be nothing to support the horizontal balance.

Any idea of social order, proportion and justice is possible only because individually and as a community we belong to a larger cosmic order which is characterized by justice. The point where the two axes meet symbolizes our point of access to the intelligence of the divine order, which is not remote but immediately present, in the midst of our passionate engagement with life and our search for justice and community. The sacrifice of the ram of Aries on the scales of Libra does not obliterate the passionate, virile spirit of Aries, but consecrates and elevates it. The mystery embodied by this Full Moon is that just as the ever-renewing source of life (both biological and spiritual) is built into the cosmic order, so too are the springs of intelligence, moral reflection, and just action.

Love and Light

Lunar Eclipse

Astrology No Comments »

A Lunar Eclipse takes place at a Full Moon when the Moon moves into the shadow of the Earth cast by the Sun. This takes place at the same instant for all observers, but the LOCAL time on the clock depends on your time zone!

In North America (Canada & the US), the Total Eclipse takes place during:

Newfoundland ~ 11:30 p.m. - 12:21 a.m.
Atlantic ~ 11:00 - 11:51 p.m.
Eastern ~ 10:00 - 10:51 p.m.
Central ~ 9:00 - 9:51 p.m.
Mountain ~ 8:00 - 8:51 p.m.
Pacific ~ 7:00 - 7:51 p.m.

MEXICO, Central America and the Caribbean include all time zones listed above, so if you’re not sure which time zone you’re in, just keep your eyes on the skies from 7pm until midnight!

South American time zones range from UTC (GMT) -5 to -3, so the time will be from 10pm until 1am.

In Europe and Africa ~ 3:00 a.m. - 3:51 a.m. UTC (GMT) in the early morning of February 21

Look 1 hour 20 minutes before and after to see the partial phases. In Western regions, the Moon may rise partially eclipsed.

You don’t have to go to any special place to see the eclipse, as long as you can see the Moon from where you are: front porch, backyard, walking down the street.

To the left of the Moon you will see the planet Saturn.

It may help to look for the Moon on the night before, so you know roughly what part of the sky to look in. On eclipse night, the Moon will be further East and a little lower in the sky, compared to the previous night. But don’t worry…a near-Full Moon is hard to miss, even in the city!

IS IT SAFE TO LOOK AT? SHOULD I BE WEARING PROTECTION?
Not only can you view a Lunar Eclipse with the naked eye, it’s absolutely amazing when viewed through binoculars. Better yet, you should try watching it through a telescope. Incredible. THERE WON’T BE ANOTHER FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS, so you don’t want to miss it!

3 years? BUT I JUST SAW ONE IN AUGUST!
Yes, there was a Total Eclipse on August 28, 2007. Eclipses run in cycles, as the moon does. Although there will be a few partial eclipses over the next few years, the next Total Eclipse won’t be until December 21, 2010, when we will have 3 more Total Eclipses in a row over a 12 month period.
